Hi everyone!

I thought I post my review/report here of the 100 Monkeys show at a venue called "The White Rabbit" in San Antonio, Tx on Jan.9, 2010. I had a great time at the show, I got to see Jackson and 100 Monkeys perform live for the first time ever. It was a dream come true, I waited a year and a half to seem them. You can also find my review of the show (and pics) on this website

My day started around midnight of Jan.9, I was still finishing up a drawing that I've been working on since late December and did not stop until 3:00am. I forced myself to sleep and did not awake until 7:00am to finished what little was left of the drawing. I finally finished the whole thing around 10:00am. Thank God, I was able to finish it cause I was worried I wouldn't have been able to give it to the 100 Monkeys. The drawing was a group shot, I would give you a pic of the reference image I used for the drawing. I'm sorry I couldn't take a pic of the drawing itself, cause there wasn't time to do so cause I had to get ready to leave for San Antonio. Anyway, during that time I also decided to give the drawing of Jackson I did for the Birthday project JRO threw for him as a gift to Jackson. The group shot drawing was for the whole band and I seriously prayed that I would be able to give it to them, that would have been a great reward for the hard work I did on them.
At around 1:00pm, my brother (Martin), sister-in-law (Kim), twin sister (Judith) and myself left for San Antonio, TX after making a stop at a Wal-mart for snacks for our trip. We arrived in San Antonio around 2:30pm (My brother drove fast when other cars weren't around, making record time) and using the GPS system we went looking for the venue called "The White Rabbit", the place the 100 Monkeys were to perform at, to see how the place look like. My sister Judith was not pleased, she thought the venue looked scary-looking covered in graffiti. She wanted to back out cause she was afraid bad people hang out there, I wouldn't let her back out on me, plus our tickets were in her name and I couldn't go without her. We had to be there together, no excuses- that was a rule the venue had for those who chose the "will Call" method.
Anyway, after finally having a good idea were the "White Rabbit" was, we went to the River Center Mall that was literally next to the all-famous "River-Walk" to shop and kill time. We left the mall around 4:30 pm and went to a fast-food restaurant called "Jack In The Box" to eat and then around 5:40pm we left for "The White Rabbit" to wait in line. My brother and his wife dropped me and my sister off at the venue. There I met up with JoJo, her aunt and friend. It was great meeting one of my best friends from the JRO shout-box! JoJo and her group chatted with me and my sister, while waiting in the freezing cold for 2 hours to open the doors to the show. Finally after feeling like frozen popsicles, they opened the doors around 7:30pm. After saving a spot near the front stage, I went to the Merchandise table to buy me the Monkey CD "Grape". They didn't have much merchandise on the Monkeys, except Cd's, t-shirts and stickers. No posters though, they were sold-out.
I wanted to buy a poster and t-shirt for a friend named Vanessa, but they didn't have the size Vanessa told me to get her. So I didn't get her the stuff she asked me for. So sorry V, I tried to get you the stuff you wanted! Anyway, the opening act started playing around 8:00pm. They were a band called "Forever Golden", they played excellent songs and they were fun to listen too, it made the waiting for the Monkeys easier. Finally around 9:30pm, the 100 Monkeys came on stage! The crowd went wild when Ben Graupner first came on stage and got even louder as the rest of the boys started appearing onstage. The boys, including Jackson were testing their musical instruments before telling the crowd that they were taking a 5 minute break ant then they will be back. After 5 minutes or so, the boys took to the stage and began the show with "Wings on Fire" and then they went to "Orson Brawl" and "Arizona". Sorry, but I don't really remember the order of the songs that they sang.
They did an improv song and asked the crowd to come up with a word. One guy shouted "Viagra", they did not use that word of course but, they did choose another word- but I don't really remember what it was. It was a word that had to do with socks or something like that. During the middle of the song, I managed to hand over my drawings to Jackson when he leaned over the front stage were I happened to be and he looked at them and by the reaction on his face, he loved them! He smiled and pointed at me and told me "thank you", he then put it somewhere were the drums where and finished singing the song. After wards, the boys took a 10 minute break and came back singing a song from their Grape CD. After several other songs, they did a switcharoo and Jerad noticed my drawings, he pointed at them and by the look on his face he asked who did that.
While switching musical instruments I noticed that Jackson, Ben G and Ben J huddling together looking at my drawings!! They stayed like that for about a minute or two and by the look on their faces I could tell that they were impressed and that they loved what they were looking at. **Squeal!**, this was a great reward for all the hard work I put on my drawings! Anyway, They performed almost all of the songs you'll find on their Grape CD, they ended their show with the song "Keep Awake" after the crowd kept shouting to the boys to sing the song and they complied and once the song ended, Jackson thank the crowd for coming to the show and he hoped to see some of us in Tulsa, OK. He and the boys then got together and bowed to the crowd and said their goodbyes. JoJo, my sister and myself lingered at the venue for a little while, hoping for the boys to meet and greet with the fans but they did not- we only saw Marty, the Bananager, talking to the fans. So, my sister and I said our goodbyes to JoJo and we made the 2 hour drive home with my brother and his wife.
